Why Uber Can Have You to Mexico, But Not Back to the US
Uber Passport launched today, allowing drivers to bring passengers to United mexican states.

Riders can travel to Tijuana, United mexican states, from San Diego in "one seamless and hassle-gratis" trip, Uber wrote on its website. The trip isn't cheap though. The ride through the newly launched UberPassport can toll $100 from downtown San Diego to Tijuana International Airport, for example.
So why not offering the return trip? One logistical claiming for anyone crossing the border from Mexico to the U.S. is the expect. Travel websites depict the relative ease of trekking to Tijuana from San Diego past foot, car, trolley or autobus. Merely the return trip can accept an hr or more due to the wait through U.S. community.
Another challenge has to do with liability. Uber is able to offer cross-border service to Mexico because regulations ascertain commercial activity at the bespeak of pickup, instead of rider drop-off.
